To Block Websites, Add Keywords To Categories
One of the core functionalities of IMLock is to block websites. IMLock uses a keyword approach. This means that we match search terms with the content, page name, and url of the website to determine if the site should be blocked. IMLock comes preloaded with keywords based on our years of experience in blocking websites.
An example of keyword blocking is to block the website http://www.facebook.com
Keywords to use could be www.facebook.com and that will block all the pages on that site.
You can go to broader terms like “Facebook” which will block not only facebook.com sites, but any sites with “Facebook” in the title, url, or certain content. This becomes handy with blocking adult sites because you can have matches for keywords only contained in those types of sites. In certain cases, that can cause over blocking. However, since our primary directive is to keep inappropriate sites off the device, we prefer to err on the side of caution. In cases of over blocking, you can always whitelist the domain with a similar keyword formatting.
